Jungle Green

I really like forest/mossy green and I find myself always buying a lot of it. This sweater is great because not only is it that color, but it's also a little over sized so I'm able to wear a tank top under it, and it has a real pocket, which is always a plus.
The sweater is from H&M and I found it in the sale section for $5!
Amazing am I right?

This necklace is really cute because it's on a thin gold chain and it's great for mixing metals since one half of the circle is silver and the other is gold.
This is my favorite ring because not only is there a daisy with a gold center on it, but  because I got it from my mommy.

This is one of my favorite cardigans. It's from American Eagle and i'm pretty sure I got it for Christmas last year. It's very warm and I feel like its a good layering piece. The white collared shirt is from Forever 21 and it was around $13. My jeans are from Abercrombie and Fitch and the shoes I'm wearing are the same cutout booties I showed a picture of the other day.

Cutouts and Patterns

This year one of my main goals is to actually try to look presentable when I leave my house. When I've been going out I've been trying hard not to go in sweatpants. It's been pretty difficult, but not impossible, and it's good practice for when I go back to school in two weeks.

These jeggings are from Zara. They were on sale and only $25. They were originally $40, so i got a pretty great deal on them.

These shoes are the best thing I own. I got them in Marshalls a week ago and they were $50. The cutouts are great because they make me feel like a rebel.

Valentine's Day is coming up, which means that it's time to pull out your glitter glue and heart shapes. I saw pictures of really nice heart garlands, so I decided to make my own. Since I'm super duper frugal, my first thought was about where I could get the supplies for the garland the cheapest.
These hearts were from the dollar section in Target. It's a pretty great deal if you ask me. I'm not crafty at all, mostly because I don't have the patience necessary to finish most crafts, so when I say that this was a super easy craft to complete, I'm not kidding.

Glitter is one of my favorite things, so when I realized that I had a chance to use it, I grabbed it.
I alternated between Elemers Glue (the squeezable bottle one, not stick) and Modpoge because I didn't know which one would dry faster (that's the lack of patience talking again).
These are what my hearts looked like when I was finished. I recommend spraying the hearts you put glitter on with hair spray. The hair spray will help keep the hearts intact.
This garland would have looked better if I had used yarn in stead of string, but I was resourceful and used what I had.

This is what it looks like when it's done.
Have fun!

Color Blocking

In my opinion, the easiest way to color block is when the trend is already built into the statement piece of the outfit. In this case, it's this sweater.

This sweater I got from Gap has an interesting neckline and is very warm.

OOTD: Denim on Denim

I feel like the best way to wear multiple types of denim (shirt, pants, etc) is to wear the denim in different shades. Here is my take on that.
Today I was wearing these dark jeans with this light blue denim shirt.

I feel like this navy striped shirt contracts well with the denim shirt.

I paired this outfit with all black converses because I felt like they added a nice touch of grunge.
(I didn't show them but I wore them I promise)

It's January 4th, which means that the resolutions people have made for this year are either in full swing, or already broken. One of my resolutions was to go to the gym everyday (what a joke), this resolution is already broken because I spent the whole day playing Sims 3. (this isn't a joke. Sims 3 is a way of life, once you start you have to commit)
Another one of my resolutions is to not take things so seriously. I went through a tough time in 2013. I took everything people said about me and to me to heart and that's just not a way to go about things. I'm just going to try my hardest to not let comments and things like that get to me. And hopefully this change will also help me with my confidence.
The most important resolution In my opinion is to write more. Writing is my main passion and I haven't really had time to write as much as I would like to, and hopefully i'll take the steps to change that. I've been writing a novel for the past two years and I've been having a tough time with trying to finish it up because of writers block. I'm going to make it a top priority this year to finish it up, and maybe even manage that in a few months. In an effort to minimize the amount of writers block, I think it's a good idea to read more. I love to read, but just like writing, I don't really have time for it. I went on a Barnes and Noble shopping spree a year ago when I got an American Express gift card from my parents for graduating high school, and I still haven't found the time to get through those. I'll make it a mission this year to get through those books, and maybe even post a few reviews of what I think about them.
I hope you all have a great year, and if you're like me and 2013 wasn't that great for you, I'm sure we can make 2014 work for us.
